The 47-year-old was speaking after arriving back in Buenos Aires with his squad following their successful European tour, during which Argentina secured an historic win against England at Twickenham, defeated Italy and lost to France by just a single point.

Despite success on the pitch, the coach is unhappy at the recent decision of the Argentina Rugby Union (UAR) to appoint Patricio Noriega to the side's coaching staff without Loffreda's approval.

"I cannot confirm my presence in the World Cup because of new problems," Loffreda told the Ole newspaper.

"I've been very surprised by Noriega's appearance. I don't know if it was to take me out of the post or to strengthen the post of general manager.

"They (the union) told me he was coming to help, but everybody in the technical staff, even the players, does not understand that."

But even in the face of this off-pitch turmoil, Loffreda is adamant there is still a feeling of togetherness in the squad.

"We, the coaches and players, are very united. There is a very solid group of coaches and players in the Pumas."
