Japanese delegation visits BallymoreA delegation from High Performance section of the Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) has visited Ballymore to inspect Queensland Rugby's training facilities, with a view to establishing a player and coach development program.
The delegation, which is also visiting New Zealand and NSW to evaluate facilities there, will also join the Reds Gold Coast training camp at Sanctuary Cove this week to watch the players go through their paces under head coach Eddie Jones.
The delegation is led by Yuichi Ueno, the JRFU vice-chairman of High Performance, who is accompanied by Yuichu Nakazato, the High Performance Co-Ordinator and JRFU HP Manager Tony Philp.
Wednesday's visit follows a trip to Japan earlier this month by the Reds, who played the Japan national team in a World Cup warm-up match.
Eddie Jones has close links with Japan Rugby and QRU Chairman Peter Lewis said he hoped the delegation's Queensland visit will lead to a formal agreement with the JRFU.
